    Do you have to be licensed to be a Home inspector in Hawaii?

        No, but check the credentials and experience of any Home Inspector before you hire one. Many are not credentialed nor have they passed the National Home Inspector exam. 


        Check for bonified certifications and actual inspection experience. In recent years many newcomers have decided to “become a Home inspector and are inexperienced.

    Do you do a termite inspection?

        Yes, but as part of your purchase contract, your actual Termite inspection will be performed by a licensed Termite company/representative at a later date, and is not part of your Home Inspection. We perform a thorough check for any termite damage, and report it as part of every inspection report.

    Do you perform mold inspections?

        Yes, but if there is any reportable mold noted, a more in-depth inspection/remediation assessment would be recommended.

    Can I be on site for the inspection?

        Yes, your presence is welcomed.

    Do you perform repairs to any damage you discover during the inspection?

        No…unless you re really need the help…

    Do you do a structural analysis of the homes you inspect?

        Yes, I have very much experience in the engineering and hands-on construction process, and have been doing this since 1986.

    Can I contact you for advice in the future?

         Absolutely yes.

    What if I find a problem that is not shown in the report?

         Contact me at once so the issue can be confirmed, re-assessed and remedied.

    Who owns the report once it’s published?

        You (the client) and Wailea Property Inspections.
